An excavator hydraulic quick coupler is a mechanical device mounted on an excavator arm that allows operators to rapidly switch between attachments like buckets, hammers, and grapples without leaving the cab. By using the machine's hydraulic power to automate locking and releasing, it eliminates the need to manually hammer out attachment pins. This in-cab automation significantly improves job site efficiency and reduces the risk of injury associated with manual attachment changes. As a result, hydraulic quick couplers are essential for high-productivity construction, demolition and utility projects where frequent attachment changes are required. The ESCO® PosiGrab® II quick coupler was designed and developed to provide simplified use for the machine operator and to optimise site safety. ESCO® attachments are known for productivity and safety, and the PosiGrab® II coupler continues that tradition. The PosiGrab® II design features both front and rear locks that are mechanically engaged independently through the full working cycle – and are also independently released with hydraulics. The natural position of the coupler is locked and only opens using forced hydraulic pressure. All operations to pick up or release attachments are done without leaving the safety of the cab, including the visual confirmation that both the front and rear locking mechanisms are properly engaged.
