in 1975, we manufactured our first Lewis® sulphuric acid valve, continuing a specialisation in sulphuric acid equipment which began in 1914. Today, the Lewis brand is known worldwide as a leader in the design and manufacture of piping and control valves for sulphuric acid applications. Our range of Lewis® specialty valves include butterfly, gate and globe valves. They are designed with an all-metal construction featuring our best-in-class proprietary Lewmet® nickel-chrome alloys. The mechanical engineering concepts embodied in our Lewis® sulphuric acid valves ensure unparalleled performance, consistent flow control and maximum corrosion resistance in high-temperature sulphuric acid and oleum applications. Although the flow through piping in a sulphuric acid plant is generally limited to 2-3 meters/second, the velocity may be many times that value in the intricate passageways of a valve. Thus, valves featuring Lewmet® alloy provide owners with unequalled performance in sulfuric acid plant operations.
